WTFD Still on job in North Jersey and NYC

September 14, 2001--Morning Update:
Lt. Kevin Brink and F/F Jason Palmer still working in NYC with the Urban Search and Rescue Team expected to stay there until sometime next week. There is possibility they will return to our area on 09-21-01.
Firefighter/EMT Simon Hernandez treated several people last night on Liberty Island. A make shift hospital has been set up on the island similar to a M*A*S*H unit. The treated were mostly rescue workers being transported from the WTC to the hospital with mostly eye and hand injuries and one was treated with a broken leg.

Firefighter/EMT Simon Hernandez riding with Hightstown First Aid Squad at Liberty State Park and the going into relive EMS crews in NYC tonight and will return sometime on September 14, 2001.
September 13, 2001--Midday Update:
Lieutenant Dennis Williams, and firefighters Simon Hernandez and Charlie Realmonte returned from New York City. The crew was in NYC near the WTC with other EMS crews from NJ.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP (MERCER)--Firefighters from the Washington Township Fire
Department are still on the job assisting people in North Jersey and NYC.
Lieutenant Kevin Brink and Firefighter Jason Palmer are working with the US
Urban Search and Rescue Team in the area of what the media has labeled “Ground Zero”. They
are assisting other agencies searching through the rubble of the collapsed World
Trade Center.
The fire department has also sent three additional firefighters who are also cross trained as Emergency Medical Technicians to assist first aid squads and victims that are in North Jersey. The firefighters in North Jersey last night and today are Lieutenant Dennis Williams, and firefighters Simon Hernandez and Charlie Realmonte.

The flag in front of the firehouse has been lowered to half staff at the request of the President.
