130 RESCUE

WASHINGTON TWP. (Mercer County)—Firefighters were
called to the scene of a two-car accident at the intersection of Route 130 and
Route 526 around 4:15 p.m. Saturday October 7, 2000. Washington Township
firefighters found a total of three patients, one that required extrication.
Firefighter/EMTs worked to treat the patients and stabilize the scene while
waiting for rescue and ambulances to arrive. A rescue unit from Mercerville
(Station 12) was called to remove a victim from the overturned car. A child, who
was involved in the accident; was transported by the Hightstown First Aid Squad
to the nearby Trenton-Robbinsville Airport. The Groveville Fire Company (Station
19) set up the landing zone and stood by. Penn-Star Medivac 2 from Pennsylvania
transported the child to Cooper Medical Center’s Trauma Unit in Camden. The
Allentown First Aid Squad transported two patients to Robert Wood Johnson
Medical Center of Hamilton. The Mercer County Paramedics from Capitol Health
System provided ALS treatment of the injured.
