PICKUP TRUCK FIRE

WASHINGTON TWP. (Mercer County) --- On Thursday June 21st, at approximately 18:15 hours the Washington Township Fire Department (Mercer County Station 40) was dispatched to Old York Rd for a vehicle fire, reported possibly in a garage. A full structural box consisting of Ladder 42 from the East Windsor Fire Dept., Tanker 19 from the Groveville Fire Department, and Special Services 43 from the West Windsor were added to their assignment. Upon arrival of Engine 402, they found a fully involved pick-up truck with no exposure problem. Crews stretched an 1 3/4" hand line and immediately knocked the fire down. At this time the balance of the assignment was re-called and command held the scene with Engine's 402 & 401 for overhaul.
