WASHINGTON TWP. (Mercer County)—Firefighters were called to a chimney fire on Milburne Lane on the evening of Friday February 23, 2001. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire using chimney chains and a portable water fire extinguisher. A thermal imaging camera was used to check to see if the fire extended in to any areas except the flue pipe. Once it was determined the fire did not spread further firefighters returned to their station. Washington Township was assisted by East Windsor Fire Company #1’s ladder truck.
