FIRE AT ALLENTOWN HS

ALLENTOWN (MERCER)—The Hope Fire Company of Allentown responded to a fire in the Allentown High School on Thursday, December 7, 2000. When firefighters arrived they were met with at smoke condition in the center hall that turned out to be a dryer on fire in the home economics room in the school. Firefighters removed the dryer from the school and quickly extinguished the fire outside. Fire departments responding to the scene were Groveville Fire Company (Mercer Sta. 19), Millstone Township Fire Company (Monmouth Sta. 32-1) Washington Township (Mercer Sta. 40).
