Home Saved from Fire, Shed Destroyed
Robbinsville (Mercer County)- Firefighters were dispatched at 8:05 AM on
March 29 for a Shed Fire with close exposure to a home in the Mercer Mobile
Park. Reports from Robbinsville Police Department and Mercer County Central
advised responding units that the fire has extended into the trailer home. Upon
arrival, Engine 40 Officer Captain Palmer reported a fully involved shed fire
with exposure to the home. Crews began knocking down the fire and checking the
interior of the home and reported that there was no exposure to the inside of
the home. The only damage sustained to the home was some siding that had melted
due to the high heat and some smoke damage. However, one pet fatality did occur.
Station 40 units remained on scene for a little over an hour for investigation
to be completed by FM 40. The box alarm consisted of Station 40, Engine 19 (Groveville),
Tower 17 (Nottingham), & Monmouth County Engine 82-81 (Allentown).
