Robbinsville Township- At 5:04 PM on January 13, fire fighters were dispatched to 1089 Washington Blvd. the Rite Aid for an unknown type fire. While en route, Robbinsville Patrol reported a fire in the cockloft at the back of the store. On arrival, Engine 40 Captain Hernandez reported a smoke condition coming from the rear door. With the quick work of employees, the fire was extinguished with a dry chemical extinguisher prior to Engine 40s arrival. Tower 17 (Nottingham Fire Department) was ordered to go to the roof and check for extension while Engine 40s crew continued to hit the hot spots of prescription papers and other important medical information that were still smoldering and check for extension inside of the building. Investigation revealed a fan motor over heated and caused the fire inside the rear bathroom in the storage area. The fire was contained to only a small portion of the bathroom and medical papers. All units made themselves available within an hour of being on scene while FM40 continued further investigation and awaited the arrival of the Health Inspector. Responding units were Station 40 units, Engine 19 (Groveville Fire Department), Tower 17 (Nottingham Fire Department), and Engine 12 (Mercerville Fire Company).
