Rt. 130 MVA with Rescue
Robbinsville Township- Fire Fighters were dispatched to Route 130 and Hankins Road for a reported MVA at 4:45 PM on January 11. Prior to arriving, Engine 40 was notified by Robbinsville Police Dispatch that there was a report of one victim entrapped. Captain Palmer relayed to Mercer County Central Dispatch the information and requested assignment to be upgraded to a rescue assignment. On arrival, Engine 40 reported a two car MVA and confirmed to dispatch that there was one entrapped. While Engine 40 and Rescue 140-10 went into service with extricating the entrapped victim, Station 42 (East Windsor Fire Department) was dispatched to the same MVA for the rescue assignment due to the close proximity of their district. Engine 40 Captain requested their 2nd BLS Ambulance from the Hightstown First Aid Squad (Squad 41) for the second patient in the other vehicle. The victim from the first vehicle was extricated and was transported by 140-10 to the local area trauma hospital. Ambulance 41-11, after requesting a "door pop" on their vehicle, transported the driver of the vehicle to the same local area trauma hospital. Station 40 units were on scene for approximately 45 minutes after recalling all Station 42 units responding. The cause of the accident is being investigated by the East Windsor Police Department.
