2 Alarm Fire in Windsor Castles in East Windsor
East Windsor Township (Dist.1)- On March 22, around 3:25 A.M. Station 42 and Ladder 41 were dispatched to 8 Devonshire Drive in the Windsor Castles Apartments complex for a reported apartment fire. Responding first was Assistant Chief 42 and arrived on scene to report smoke showing from side A. He then investigated the smoke condition and reported heavy fire on the 2nd floor and to fill the first alarm box. While during the dispatch of the first alarm, Assistant 42 requested a 2nd alarm to be dispatched. Squirt 42 arrived on scene and went in service with a 2 1/2 inch hand line to attack the fire. Within minutes the progressed and became un controllable at one point the crews inside the structure were evacuated by command 42.
