
Car vs Pole
UpperFreehold – Around noon time Squad
82-21(Allentown First Aid Squad) was dispatched to the area of Route 539 and
Interstate 195 for a car versus pole. Prior to responding Station
40(Washington Twp. Fire Department) Group 3 was dispatched to the area of
Route 539 and Gordon Road for a Car versus pole. This was on in the same
call.
FM-40 Captain Dennis Symons arrived on scene and advised Mercer Dispatch
that he had a one car MVA vs. pole, and Allentown First Aid Squad was on
scene. Captain Symons also advised that the vehicle hit a telephone pole
with no electrical wires involved on telephone wires. Captain Symons also
advised that the pole that was snap in half was in UpperFreehold.
Engine 40 and Rescue 140-10 arrived a few minutes later. Crew’s from both
the Engine and Rescue assisted Allentown BLS with packaging the patient.
Also the Engine crew de-energized the vehicle.
Captain Hernandez had Mercer Dispatch, dispatch Station 82-1(Allentown Fire
Department) to the scene, due to the pole being in their district. Captain
Hernandez turned the scene over to Allentown units and all Washington Twp.
units returned back in service. Squad 82-21 transported the patient to the
hospital. Engine 82-82 arrived on scene and stood by while the vehicle was
removed and the pole was tended too. Engine 82-82 did not remain on the
scene to long due to they had another call in there district and the scene
was turned over to the New Jersey State Police along with Washington Twp.
