Four injured in Turnpike Wreck

 

 
Hamilton Township (Mercer County)--The Washington Township Fire Department was called to an accident at mile marker 59 North Bound near the 6N Service Area on the New Jersey Turnpike on Friday March 17, 2006. The accident happened when a north bound Chevrolet Trail Blazer lost control and hit a Freightliner tractor-trailer at approximately 5:20 a.m. Washington Township Firefighters arrived at 5:35 a.m. and extricated two of the occupants in the vehicle using hydraulic rescue equipment. The extrication was complete within 11 minutes at 5:46 a.m. The four occupants of the trail blazer were taken to Capitol Health System at Fuld Campus, two were transported by the fire department and the other two were taken by Hamilton Township EMS. Mercer County Paramedics also responded and the NJ State Police is investigating the crash.
