Unusual  Truck Accident

Washington Township (Mercer)--The Washington Township Fire Department responded to an unusual truck accident at the intersection of Circle Drive and Potts Road on January 31, 2006. Firefighters were called to the scene at 4:30 p.m. to remove a large branch of a tree that became lodged in the body of a truck. The truck hit the large branch while it was traveling on Edgebrook Road. The driver not knowing what happened pulled over after turning onto Potts Road an the branch came in contact with telephone wires. The fire department was called to the scene to remove the tree branch by using a chain saw. Firefighters were on scene for a half hour and the truck was able to proceed on its way after branches were cleared from the truck and roadway. No injuries were reported and the Washington Township Police is investigating the accident.
