House Fire in West Windsor

 

 

WEST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP (Mercer) - The Washington Township Fire Department responded to a request for mutual aid from neighboring West Windsor on the afternoon of February 27, 2006. 
 
West Windsor Township Fire Department units were dispatched at 2:06 PM to a report of "Smoke" coming from a town house at 34 York Road in the Windsor Ponds Development.  Firefighters from West Windsor Township Emergency Services and West Windsor Fire Company arrived within minutes to find a well involved fire in the first floor kitchen.  A full first alarm was requested by West Windsor Township Fire Director Jim Yates at 2:10 PM brining additional units from Washington Township (Engine 40), Mercerville (Engine 12), Plainsboro (Rescue 49), and Hightstown (Ladder 41) to the scene.
 
West Windsor Township firefighters had a majority of the fire extinguished by the time mutual aid departments arrived. Washington Township and Mercerville firefighters checked the attached town home for extension and assisted with ventilation.
 
Aslo responding to the incident were Princeton Junction Fire Company and West Windsor Township Police.
