WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP (Mercer County) - Firefighters from the Washington Township Fire Department  responded to an auto fire on the New Jersey Turnpike on the evening of February 23, 2006. 

 

Fire department units were dispatched at 5:07 p.m. for a report of a vehicle fire in the toll plaza at Exit 7A of the New Jersey Turnpike.  The on duty platoon responded with the engine and rescue and found a well involved Jeep Cherokee upon arrival.  The fire was quickly extinguished and the cause was undetermined. 

 

Washington Township Fire Department units were assisted at the scene by the New Jersey State Police.  All fire units cleared the scene at 17:40 p.m.
