PSE&G Electric Safety Drill
On the evening of Tuesday, October 18, 2005, representatives from Public Service Electric & Gas came to the Washington Township Fire Department for a demonstration on Electric Safety. PSE&G brought their “Wires and Fires” demonstration trailer to display the many dangers associated with the high voltage electric lines that run along PSE&G’s utility poles here in Washington Township. Firefighters from Washington and East Windsor along with members of the Washington Township CERT team and several local residents were in attendance.
Wires & Fires Safety Trailer
On October 18th at 6:30 pm The Washington Township Fire Department will sponsor The Wires & Fires Safety Trailer which is provided by PSE& G.
There will be specially trained PSE&G Representatives providing various demonstrations illustrating power lines and live wires and what immense impact these wires could have carrying thousands of volts of electricity and the damage that can be caused when actively arcing. Information will be provided as to what steps need to be taken if/when one ever encounters such circumstances.
This demonstration is open to the public
