Wires Down Close Rt. 130
 

        WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP (Mercer) --The Washington Township Fire Department was called to the scene of burning high voltage wires down and burning across Route 130 on November 24, 2005. The call was reported shortly before 8:48 p.m. when  units arrived they found a tree had fallen and blocked the  roadway and that high voltage wires were down and burning along the roadway. The Groveville Fire Department stood by by at the intersection of South Gold Drive in the North Bound lanes of Route 130 and the WTFD stood by at the entrance of the Mercer Mobile Homes park on the South Bound Side of highway until power could be shut down. Small fires were extinguished after the power was cut. The roadway was closed for at least 2 hours while the NJ DOT could remove the fallen tree.
