SUV Overturns on NJ Turnpike

Washington Township (Mercer)---A sport utility vehicle en route from Philadelphia to Long Island overturned on the NJ Turnpike on Tuesday May 10, 2005. The SUV left the road way at the 64.4 north bound mile marker and rolled several times and ended up almost 75 feet off the roadway. The occupants were initially trapped in the vehicle but were helped out by a passing motorist before fire department arrival.  The Washington Township Fire Department was notified at 11:14 a.m. and arrived shortly afterwards. Firefighters treated the two occupants and transported them to Capitol Health System Fuld Campus in Trenton that has a level 2 trauma center. It was reported that the SUV was cut off by a tractor-trailer and the NJ State Police was investigating and looking to talk to the driver of the truck.
