Sayreville (Middlesex)---Firefighters from the Washington Township Fire Department recently participated in their annual SCBA proficiency exercise at the Middlesex County Fire Academy in Sayreville.  Firefighters performed search and rescue as well as extinguishment drills under live fire conditions while being monitored by Certified Instructors.  Firefighters also had an opportunity to train on a new portable master stream device that was recently purchased for use in case of a large warehouse fire.  This annual qualification is required by the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety and all firefighters in the State must participate annually in order to continue to perform interior firefighting duties.
