Ice rescue drill held
WASHINGTON TWP----On Saturday, January 25, 2003, members of the Washington Township Fire dept. completed the 2nd day of Ice Water rescue Training. Fire Department members received both classroom and practical training in handling Ice Water emergencies. Department members completed various skills associated to the Awareness, Operational and Technicians level. Those members brave enough to do so took the chilly plunge into the Ice water, both as victim and Rescuer alike. Different techniques of Rescues were demonstrated and new equipment was introduced. The Washington Township Police Dept. had 5 of its Officers participate in the drill, this joint effort would be needed in case of an actual emergency.
