WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP (MERCER)—A large tractor-trailer tipped over as the truck rounded a curve on New Jersey Turnpike's Exit 7A off-ramp Sunday, February 02, 2003 , state police said.
The driver, whose name was not released, was trapped in the cab and local firefighters had to help remove him, police said.
Police said the 18-wheeler lost control as it left the highway at Exit 7A, which leads to a toll plaza for Interstate 195.
State police closed the ramp for more than an hour, causing traffic delays for motorists attempting to get on I-195.
The extent of the driver's injuries were unknown last night.
