Blizzard 2003
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP (MERCER)—On Sunday and Monday February 16 and 17th 2003 a blizzard pounded the area dropping close to 20" of snow. Firefighters responded to numerous fire and medical emergency calls in the township that were storm related. Extra manpower was available at the firehouse to cover the extra load on the department. After the storm firefighters shoveled out fire hydrants that were buried from the snow.
