WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP - A motorcyclist slammed into the rear of a car on Robbinsville-Edinburg Road yesterday morning and suffered minor injuries, police said.

Michael Mirage, 48, of Burlington Township, failed to stop when a car in front of his motorcycle slowed around 11:15 a.m. because of road construction in the area of Buckley Lane, Patrolman Shawn Emmons said.

Initially, Mirage's injuries were thought to be serious, but they were downgraded later, Emmons said.

"We're always very cautious with a motorcycle accident," Emmons said.

Mirage was taken by Washington Township First Aid to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton where he was being evaluated yesterday afternoon, Emmons said.

The driver of the car was not injured, Emmons said.

The crash remains under investigation and no summonses were issued, he said.
