Duck Rescue on Washington Boulevard

WASHINGTON TWP (MERCER)--Firefighters were called to rescue baby ducks that were separated from their mother on Washington Boulevard at 11:16 a.m. on Monday June 17, 2002. Firefighters removed several storm drain covers along the boulevard and at one point had to use a fire hose to help flush the baby ducklings toward rescuing firefighters. The three ducklings were returned to their mother waiting in some bushes near by and then escorted across a parking lot and returned to the wild.
