Block Party
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP (MERCER)—With drought restrictions lifted earlier this week kids once again were able to enjoy being washed down at a block party on Erin Court the weekend of June 29, 2002. This was not only a wash down for kids, firefighters were able to train two of our junior firefighters how to hook up to a fire hydrant, lay hose and how to use a deck gun on the engine which they will now be able to assist regular firefighters at fire scenes. Even though drought restrictions were lifted firefighters gated down the gallons per minute of flow on the adjustable nozzle and only flowed water for a few minutes to conserve water.
