Fully Involved Car Fire on I-195
Washington Township (Mercer)---Route-195 west bound mile near marker 7.4. on
March 23rd at 12:53 p.m. A motorist experiencing engine problems pulled over and
dialed 9-1-1 after her vehicle began smoking. Upon arrival of Engine 402
and Rescue 140-10 they reported a fully involved vehicle fire. Engine 402
stretched a 1 3/4 inch line and knocked down the fire. Due to the heavy
amount of fire, the gasoline tank ruptured making things more difficult for the
hose team. After several minutes, Engine 402 had knocked down the fire and
mopped up.
